|SUBMISSION DEADLINE AUGUST 30, 2015
In this issue of Mizna, we will examine where different forms of oppression meet. Originally the term "intersectionality" was coined by law professor K. Crenshaw to address the ways in which black women have faced a particular kind of oppression due to the intersection of race and gender.
We are asking you to share with us your stories, essays, and poems that reflect your own experiences or analysis of intersectionality of race, gender, class, religion, ethnicity, etc.
Mizna's Twin Cities Arab Film Festival (TCAFF) is seeking films for the upcoming festival, scheduled for November 5 to 8, 2015. The festival accepts narrative, documentary, experimental, and animated films, both features and shorts. Films sought are those made by Arab or Arab American filmmakers or films relevant to these communities. The deadline for submissions is August 15, 2015 MORE >>
